Hello There

Why, hello! Howdy. Bonjour. Hola. It is so good to have you here!

“The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – it’s all that matters.” — Audrey Hepburn

That right there. That’s the light that drives my life, my world and my work.

Life is amazing. Your life is amazing. You are amazing.  And your photos should capture that. The beautiful works of art that we create together should display that. It is my sincere hope that a moment that I captured would catch your eye and remind you that even in the dark times, enjoying life is key.

{ a little bit about me }

I’ve grown up all over Southern Louisiana and now reside in the beautiful Acadiana area. I took my first picture in pre-k. It was an out-of-focus shot of a violet in the front garden of our house, but to my four-year-old self, it was beautiful. I kept it until well into my teenage years. While in the years since I have developed the ability to focus and keep a camera still, I still believe that it is the beauty in small things that make life more enjoyable. I find that beauty in my son’s giggles, my daughter’s bright eyes when she’s learning and exploring, and my husband’s amazing wisdom.

I actually got into photography as a way to document moments to write about them. My degree is actually in print journalism and I studied for it since elementary school. It was through this avenue that I discovered the old  adage of a picture being worth a thousand words to be true and I shifted my focus. That’s how I found my love. Well, one of my loves.  And now I don’t go a day without framing a shot in my mind. Will you let me do that for you?

{some randomness}

My son, who was born premature, is now at three months bigger than his sister was at 8 months. True story.

I can write with my toes. I probably won’t show this to you at a shoot though, so you’ll have to take my word.

I cry at the father-daughter dance at every wedding I shoot. I love weddings and I love capturing all of the emotions that evolve and are shown on that day.

I am a minister’s wife and while I never imagined I would be, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am nearly a walking encyclopedia for random information. Do you know starfish have their eyes on their feet? Do you remember the lyrics to Milli Vanilli? I do.

Hopefully now you know a little bit about me so when I blurt out a random 90′s cheesy song during our session, you won’t be too surprised.
